"WHO has declared COVID-19 epidemic as Pandemic. We all know the COVID-19 virus is changing its genetic composition and behavior rapidly. Its severity is also changing as we have seen that the 2nd wave of COVID-19 is more infectious and fatal than the first wave. It affects everyone, rich-poor and urban-rural. Its symptoms are also different in different people. As the virus is constantly evolving and we are still trying to understand it, we don’t know when the next wave of the disease will hit us, so we have to be ready in every aspect, at all times, with skilled manpower and necessary equipment.
Since the disease severely affects mainly the respiratory system, its management requires oxygen therapy. Therefore, we need to ensure the regular availability of oxygen at our health facilities. We have noticed that it is not usually the shortage of oxygen but its distribution and management that pose obstacles in its access at the point of care.
The management and assessment of demand and supply of oxygen require active participation of every stakeholder associated with COVID care. We realize this a monumental task that is difficult to accomplish manually. Hence, our Oxygen Management System, “Pranvayu”, strives to sort the logistical issues in the management of oxygen availability.
I hope everyone associated with COVID care would participate actively in this initiative and provide required oxygen demand data in a timely manner for supply management as well as take necessary steps for judicious and rational use of oxygen. It is very important for us to understand that we are all in this crisis together and the way out is to play our part responsibly and support each other."

चूंकि यह रोग मुख्य रूप से श्वसन प्रणाली को गंभीर रूप से प्रभावित करता है, इसलिए इसके प्रबंधन के लिए ऑक्सीजन का उपयोग करके उपचार देने की आवश्यकता होती है। इसलिए, अपनी स्वास्थ्य सुविधाओं पर ऑक्सीजन की नियमित उपलब्धता सुनिश्चित करना हमारे लिए बहुत जरूरी है। हमने यह अनुभव किया है कि आमतौर पर ऑक्सीजन की कमी की समस्या नहीं होती है बल्कि इसके वितरण और प्रबंधन की समुचित व्यवस्था न होने से ही चिकित्सा स्थलों पर इसकी उपलब्धता बाधित हो जाती है।
ऑक्सीजन की मांग और आपूर्ति के प्रबंधन और मूल्यांकन हेतु कोविड हेतु उपचार व्यवस्था से संबंधित प्रत्येक हितधारक की सक्रिय भागीदारी की जरूरत है। हमारे विचार से यह बड़ा भारी कार्य जिसे मैन्युअल रूप से पूरा करना कठिन है। इसलिए, हमारी ऑक्सीजन प्रबंधन प्रणाली, "प्राणवायु", ऑक्सीजन की उपलब्धता के प्रबंधन में लॉजिस्टिक संबंधी मुद्दों का समाधान करने का प्रयास करती है।
